History & Mission
St. Bernadette School began with five classrooms on September 8th, 1952. Since then we have grown into a school that accommodates two classrooms of each grade, kindergarten through eight. We also have an on-site preschool. We have an enrollment of 430 in preschool-eighth grade. Our tradition of excellence continues as we educate a third generation of parish families.
St. Bernadette Catholic School is a Christ-filled learning community promoting faith, acceptance, service and peace.
Faith
St. Bernadette is a Christ-filled community. Students begin each day with prayerful reflection. Every teacher holds the appropriate religion certification from The Diocese of Clevelandβs Office of Catechetical Formation and Education. Our students help prepare for and attend the weekly all-school Mass and are regularly united with their prayer partners to join in community service projects and faith-based activities. All of our children are instructed in and given the opportunity to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
Campus
St. Bernadette School is situated on a beautiful 25-acre campus in Westlake. Our students enjoy well-maintained facilities with many amenities, including large air-conditioned and well ventilated classrooms with new carpeting and updated windows. Each classroom has newly installed Promethean ActivPanel Display systems. Our Science Lab houses hands on equipment for collaborative learning in all grade levels. In 2022, we opened our Innovation Lab where students engage in exploratory technology-based programs to help facilitate 21st century learning.
2024/2025 Enrollment
The enrollment for the 2024/2025 school year in grades PreK through 8 is 430.
